What can you expect on a cruise to the Caribbean?

Eastern Caribbean

Breathtaking natural beauty combined with old-world charm defines the magical allure of the Eastern Caribbean. With a distinctive fusion of European, African and Latin American influences, this region boasts quaint towns alive, beautiful backdrops and incredible culture.

Cruises to the Eastern Caribbean range from 3 – 14 days.

Sample ports you visit:

  • Quick departures from Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Baltimore, Charleston, New York and more.
  • Shop the Straw Market of Nassau, Bahamas, one of the largest ports. Or wander through the 34-acre Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island and soak up the sun or endless entertainment.
  • Sink your toes into the picturesque, powdery white sand of Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos. More than just beaches, it's home to one of the world's largest barrier reefs, so dive, snorkel or scuba to see the vibrant coral reefs and marine life up close.
  • Enjoy the walkable streets and pastel colored buildings of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., Charlotte Amalie. Magens Bay wins praise as one of the Caribbean's top beaches, but for a true snorkeling adventure, take the ferry over to St. Johns.
  • Visit Old San Juan, Puerto Rico to tour Castillo San Felipe del Morro, aka also known as Fort San Felipe del Morro, with sections that date back to the 16th century.

Western Caribbean

Beyond its beautiful beaches and deep within the tropical jungle, you'll find jaw-dropping ruins left behind by the ancient Mayans that rival those of the ancient Romans and Egyptians. Intriguing discoveries await in gems like Belize City, Costa Maya, and the Island of Cozumel.

Cruises to the Western Caribbean can vary from 4 nights to 14, depending on the cruise line.

Sample ports you visit:

  • Easy departures from Fort Lauderdale or Houston, Texas.
  • Discover Costa Maya, Mexico, located on the Yucatan Peninsula, and head to Mahahual, a real fishing village next door to Costa Maya, for a clean beach, calm waters and water sports.
  • Explore George Town, Grand Cayman and waltz along the white sands of Seven Mile Beach. A more adventurous option involves a boat trip to the famous Stingray City Sandbar.
  • Spend time in Montego Bay & Ochos Rios, Jamaica. Two of the most popular stops on a Western Caribbean cruise, these Jamaican ports are home to incredible culture and breathtaking scenery. In Montego Bay, head to the marine theme park of Dolphin Cove. While in Ocho Rios, hike the 600-feet Dunn's River Falls to take in the view.
  • Visit Roatan, the largest of Honduras' Bay Islands. Almost 40 miles long and just 2.5 miles at its widest point. For tourists, Roatan's charm is its barrier reef system -- the second largest in the world! -- and its appeal for diving and snorkeling.

Southern Caribbean

Travel deeper into the Southern Caribbean to discover exotic landscapes brimming with natural beauty and unique plant and animal species native to the region. Here you'll venture further into the Caribbean to more remote islands often untouched by tourists, like Grenada and Aruba.

Cruises to Southern Caribbean range from 7- to 20-days.

Sample ports you visit:

  • Quick departures from Ft. Lauderdale, or enjoy one-way cruises options from New York.
  • Visit Antigua's English Harbor, restored 18th- and 19th-century buildings now home to shops, a five-star hotel, art galleries and other businesses. Or, climb to the 492-foot summit of Shirley Heights for a panoramic view of Guadeloupe's Monserrat volcano.
  • Relax on Aruba's beautiful Eagle Beach, with soft white sands and warm, crystalline water. Luckily for cruisers, it's jut a few miles from the dock.
  • Spend a few hours strolling through Curacao's capital, Willemstad, a UNESECO World Heritage Site, filled with pastel Dutch colonial buildings.
  • Get lost in Grenada's many waterfalls, which are perfect for great hiking. Or spend a few hours shopping for nutmeg, cinnamon, mace and more at the many spice markets around the island.
